6th Screening at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival

Well Jess and I made an executive decision tonight to not attend our screening tonight. The 6th screening tonight was at the Petit Velo again (same venue as the 1st and 5th screening). It was freezing cold tonight and raining quite hard so we decided to stay at the Cocteau and see some more of the International Competition films. So if anyone went along to the screening tonight please let us know how it went.

We saw some great films today including one that might just end up being the winner (in our opinion). Here are today's favourites:

"Vikko Eninen Vappua" Director: Hamy Ramezan (Finland)
"Pigeon: Impossible" Director: Lucas Martell (USA)
"I Love Luci" Director: Colin Kennedy (Scotland)

More favourites to come tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the final screening for Glenn Owen Dodds at the Capitole Cinema at 1.00pm.  We will be in attendance to see the final showing and report back to everyone.

5th Screening at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival

5th screening is done and dusted.  We screened at the Petit Velo again for an 8.15pm showing. Not as packed as previous screenings, I think because we are coming to the end of the festival (only 2 screenings to go). Good response but not as big as all the others. Still the biggest response of all the films in our line up and a great round of applause again at the end. We are traveling well.  The film is doing really good and everyone seems to enjoy it very much.

Jess and I also got out and saw some more films today in the International Competition as well as the Zombie films. Here are our favourites from today:

International Comp
"The Neighbour" Director: Ben Weir   (Australia)
"Six Dollar Fifty Man" Directors: Mark Albiston, Louis Sutherland   (New Zealand)
"Trolls" Director: Brianne Nord-Stewart   (Canada)
"Lost and Found" Director: Philip Hunt   (UK)

Zombies
"A Break In The Monotony" Director: Damien Slevin (Australia)
"El Acomodador De Zombies" Directors: Gustavo Di Virgilio, Jorge Yatzuba (Argentina)
"Food For Thought" Director: Will Hartman (USA)

3rd & 4th Screenings at Clermont-Ferrand

We missed posting the 3rd screening blog last night - so here is the round up on screening 3 and 4 together.

Screening 3 was at the Capitole Cinema which was an awesome cinema with some of the most comfortable cinema chairs I have ever sat in. Screening went really well with a full house again.  Lots of laughs in all the right places and a big round of applause at the end. Very happy with the response.

Screening 4 has just finished a little while ago at the Centre Jaude Cinema.  The cinema was packed, so packed that Jess and I almost didn't get a seat to our own film :) This was the best audience reaction yet of all the screenings.  This audience got all the jokes and laughed the whole way through the film. Round of applause after the screening was awesome. We then received another round of applause after the credits.  We could not be happier with the reaction to the film.

We also have been able to spend the last couple of days watching the other amazing short films in the International Competition. Let's just say that there are some awesome films this year - very stiff competition. Some of them are so good we want to see them again.

Here are our list of our favourites from yesterday and today (in no particular order):

"Nyarma" Director: Edgar Bartenev (Russia)
"Slitage" Director: Patrik Eklund (Sweden)
"Civil...But Not Civilized" Director: George Tarabay (Lebanon)
"Jitensha" Director: Dean Yamada (Japan)
"Moore Street Masala" Director: David O'Sullivan (Ireland)
"Ella" Director: Hanne Larsen (Norway)
"Jenny & The Worm" Director: Ian Clark (England)

More favourites to come tomorrow.

Video Blog Day 2 Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival

Here it is everyone, as promised.  The much anticipated 2nd video blog from Clermont-Ferrand.  Enjoy.

2nd Screening at Cocteau Theatre is a success

The 2nd screening and the BIGGEST screening is done.  It was at the Cocteau theatre which seats 1400 people and it was completely full. People where being held at the door because there were no seats left. i will put up a Video Blog later tonight so you can all check out the screening and audience response.

The best part was after the screening Jess (my assistant) and I went to get a bite to eat and sat with a lovely local couple from Clermont-Ferrand who have been going to this festival every year for the last 10 years. They had just watched Glenn Owen Dodds and completely loved it. They were very excited about the film and asked lots of lovely questions about how we filmed it and the story itself. They were really amazing people and it was such a pleasure to meet them. I feel so happy that our film is being so well received by the audiences here in Clermont-Ferrand. Congratulations to all our talented cast and crew who made this possible for our little film. I feel very proud of our film and love that everyone else is just as excited about it as I am.

The 1st Screening - A huge success

Tonight was the 1st screening at Clermont-Ferrand for Glenn Owen Dodds.  We were the last film to play in our line-up and we played to an almost sold out cinema at the Petit Velo. What a response!!!! The audience loved it. We were the only film to get big laughs and the comedy in the film translated very well. We also received the biggest round of applause.  We are so excited.  Can't wait to see what tomorrow's response is.  Tomorrow we play in the 1400 seat theatre, the Cocteau, in the same line up again. We will upload a video blog tomorrow after the screening.
